From the aiport to the city center

To get from Vienna International Airport to the city center travel either by train (S-Bahn), by the Airport Bus Shuttle or by taxi.

Train (S-Bahn): The cheapest way to get to and from the airport is by train (S-Bahn). To get to the Airport train, please follow the sign "S-Bahn" (S7 and S8) in the Airport Arrival Hall. For your ride to and from the airport with the Vienna-Card or with another ticket of the Vienna Transportation Authorities, you need only buy an additional "Au├čenzonen" (outer zone) ticket for 2,20 Euro and have it punched before entering. Without the Vienna-Card or another ticket of the Vienna Transportation Authorities, you need to pay two zones (4,40 Euro, or 3,40 Euro if bought in advance).
From the airport to the center of Vienna, you should choose trains with signs "Wien Mitte", "Wien Nord" or "Floridsdorf".

Airport Bus Shuttle: The Airport Bus Shuttle station is directly outside the exit of the Airport Arrival Hall. Vienna Airport Lines connect important junctions in Vienna with the airport, seven days a week from 5 am untill 0:00 pm, in 30-minute-intervalls. The electronic information panels at the airport provide details on the best connections to Vienna. Tickets (Single ticket: 6 Euro / Return ticket: 11 Euro) can be bought on the bus or from the ticket machine. For information regarding the different routes and timetables please refer to  www.viennaairportlines.at

Taxi: The taxi stand at the airport is located outside the exit of the Airport Arrival Hall. To get to the center of the city it takes 20-30 minutes depending on the traffic (Coasts are approximately 30-35 Euro.).

By train

The 2 main stations serving Vienna are Westbahnhof and S├╝dbahnhof. The stations are connected to Vienna's public transport system by U-Bahn, tram and bus services.

Please note: Some railway stations in Vienna are currently undergoing reconstruction. To find your way around more easily, please refer to the relevant notices or ask station staff for assistance.

By car

If you come by car, the easiest and cheapest way is to park somewhere near one of the underground or railway stations, and use public transportation futher on, or check whether your hotel has its own parking place. Please note that parking in the streets in central Vienna during daytime is restricted with special permit or short periods (you will need a ticket called a "Kurzparkschein" for this).
