Excursion to Klosterneuburg

Friday, April 9, 2010, 4:30 p.m.

Klosterneuburg is a romantic small town amidst the hilly landscape of the Vienna Woods about 10 kilometers to the north of the center of the pulsating city. The town is well known for the monastery, which dates back to the Babenberger (11th century). Klosterneuburg and its environment has a very good reputation as a wine-growing district.

The excursion starts at the Department of Business Administration. It will take us about 45 minutes by bus to go to Klosterneuburg. In Klosterneuburg we start with the visit of the famous Klosterneuburg Monastery. The tematic tours make the most important parts of the monastery accessible to visitors. The tour lasts approximately one hour. Accordingly to the cultural impressions we turn to the culinary highlight of the tour with a wine tasting at the Klosterneuburg Monastery.

The excursion to Klosterneuburg is included in the registration fee.

Due to traditional legal limitations a "Heuriger" is only allowed to serve its own wine and a limited selection of food from a buffet. For centuries this is how the Viennese have been enjoying their casual and comfortable get together.

The "Heurigen" evening is optional and on your own expenses.

The address of the restaurant is:
